OUR STORY

3 Churches, 1 Mission

Embracing Faith, Family, and Community

The Champlain Islands United Methodist Church Parish is made up of 3 churches in Grand Isle, VT; North Hero, VT; and Isle La Motte, VT.  Though each of our churches has a distinct and storied history, and carries out different aspect of our mission in the Champlain Islands today, we also work together to share resources, support each other, and help build disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our primary focus is helping to build Christian Community throughout the Champlain Islands.  Inwardly, this all begins with meaningful, spiritual and contemplative worship, which reinforces our Christian Beliefs, both of which you can read about on our WORSHIP page.  Outwardly, this takes the form of helping connect islanders, restoring those relationships and helping preserve the notions that we, as a community look after one another.  Whether through community gatherings, educational opportunities, providing access to essential resources, or countless special interest groups, we support people coming together to form community in the Champlain Islands.  We view this as paramount to Jesus teachings to love our neighbor, and to serve the needs of the least of these among us.  Read below to learn more about the specific ministries of each church.
